Another great concept from the Holiday creative team: split personality Naughty vs. Nice ensemble of Brighton employees. This one was trickier than it looks. We photographed all of the employees in groups of 4–5, making sure that some people looked left or right to look like they’re interacting with someone next to them. We photographed the groups over the course of four days, splitting the first two days for “nice” themes, followed by a wardrobe change so that everyone could take on a “naughty” persona of their choice.
The next problem to solve was clipping out every person in Photoshop to bring them closer or push them apart so I could fit them into a 102″ x 3.5″ document.
Being printed on a digital press with a small sheet size required me to create a die and template that was cut into individual, pre-scored strips with 1/2″ flaps to be taped together.
To save cost we assembled the strips in-house. I built two jigs out of plywood and maple guide blocks that made it easy to insert a strip, run tape along a guide, set the neighboring strip onto the taped flap. Press, slide, fold, repeat 1500 times!
